School is IN!!

One of the last duties that I did in the office this week before my Sabbatical officially begins is to wire the money that was raised for the Nepal Scholarship Fund.  Nepal is one of the poorest countries in Asia and was recently rated as one of the most difficult places to live in the world.  As I begin my Sabbatical, I am encouraged to see God’s faithfulness in providing for this ministry. Through our partnership with Kishwaukee Bible Church, we have raised a total of $11,665 to send poor and orphaned children to school.  Imagine how the love that the money represents will bring joy to our brothers and sisters on the other side of the world!
Here are some highlights of what that money provides:
1.  It provides tuition, books, supplies, uniforms, etc. for over 90 children
2.  It has allowed the church to employ two women who function as social workers/tutors to ensure that the children are doing well.
3.  It provides an after-school program for the children in Pokhara where they get extended education, bible study, and prayer.  This program is open for children outside of the scholarship program and is a great strategy for evangelism.
As we invest in the lives of young people, we are investing in the future of the kingdom of God as it is expressed in the church in Nepal, and are investing in the long-term health of an entire nation!  Thank you for your faithfulness!  Lamachaur church would like to serve additional children, and has increased their budget this year.  If you would like to still participate in this ministry, we still need about $3400 to fully fund their budget.
