Our Leadership

The Bible identifies two offices that exist within the local church.  First, a mature church will have a group of elders that operate in mutual accountability to one another.  As a reflection of how God has gifted them, they will often have different functions, but together they are entrusted with the teaching, care, protection, and leadership of the church.

Deacons arose out of the need for the church to care for the physical and material needs of the church.  They exist to enable the mission of the church to move forward as they serve in this capacity.  If you would like a more detailed description of what the Bible says about elders and deacons, please read our statement of faith.

Our Elders

Steve Mansour is one of our elders and has been with Creekside from the beginning. He and his wife Rachel have four daughters, Janae, Moriah, Karina and Sophie.   He received a Bachelor of Arts from Moody Bible Institute (Chicago, IL) in International Ministries, and received a Masters of Science from the University of Oregon (Eugene, OR) in Special Education.  He taught middle school special education here in town before leaving to serve Creekside full time as pastor/teacher.

Dave Hays was affirmed as an Elder here at Creekside in November of 2014.  He and his wife Leanne (who serves as a Deaconess) have been with Creekside since 2005.  Dave and Leanne have two boys who are attending Oregon State University, Brad and Bryan.  Dave serves non-vocationally here at Creekside and works at LCG Pence construction out of Salem.

Paul Betts began serving Creekside as a Deacon in 2009.  In 2015 Paul was ordained as an Elder.   He and his wife Cora have five children: Grady, Edith, Genevieve, Clara and Wade.  Paul grew up in Sweet Home, Oregon and received Bachelor of Science degrees in Forest Engineering and Civil Engineering from Oregon State University in 2003.  He worked as an civil engineer in Seattle for two years before moving to McMinnville in 2005 where he works as a forest engineer.  He and Cora have been members of Creekside since 2005.

Our Deacons:

Ed and Jean Erion moved to Oregon from Colorado in 2005 to be closer to their four children and families.  They have been members at Creekside since 2005 and have been deacons since 2009.  Ed graduated from Colorado State University in 1966 with a degree in Industrial Construction Management and worked in that field during his professional career.  Jean graduated from the University of Southern Colorado in 1994 with a Bachelor of Social Work degree.  She has worked in the field of adoption and related fields for almost 20 years.  They enjoy interacting with their 5 grandchildren (ages 13 to 1 with another due in March 2013) as well as children and families at Creekside.

Leanne Hays was affirmed as a Deacon in December of 2014.  She currently volunteers here at Creekside  as our administrative assistant.  She and her husband Dave met at Oregon State.  Leanne grew up here in McMinnville, and they have called Yamhill County home since 1992.
